The mission of the Millbury Public Schools is to provide a school climate that accepts all students of varying abilities and interests and provides them with a wide variety of learning experiences so that they will have the essential skills and abilities to be life long learners and contributors to improve the quality of life for themselves and for future generations.
The office of curriculum, instruction and assessment is responsible for a number of different functions, including:
- Supervision of federal grant programs, including Title I
- State grant coordination
- Implementation and evaluation of k-12 curriculum
- Professional development of staff
- Coordination and interpretation of various assessment tools
As a district, we are continually examining our curriculum and instructional practices to ensure that they best match the current needs of our student population. Our curriculum, based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, exposes students to a wide range of learning experiences and opportunities.
We believe that excellent teachers model the behaviors we expect in students. As such, our teachers are life long learners and are continually improving themselves through ongoing professional development opportunities within the district and supported by the district.
I encourage you to contact me at the central office or through email at greese@millbury.k12.ma.us if you have any questions or concerns about the curriculum of the Millbury Public Schools.
