ADA Swingsets at Elementary Schools.
|
As a result of a town warrant article the School Department was able to install new ADA compliant swingsets and poured-in-place surfacing at the two elementary schools. This is part of the school and town's ongoing effort to make town property more ADA compliant.

Big Belly Trash Compactor
|
Millbury is now a Green Community! As part of this process the State of Massachusetts, under the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, has donated to Millbury three solar powered "Big Belly" trash compactors. One of the units has been installed at Millbury High School's athletic field.

Enclosed are picture taken after the paving of a new parking lot at Dorothy Manor School, 153 Millbury Avenue. The Dorothy Manor School is rented to Pakachoag Acres as a day care facility by the Millbury Public Schools.

R.E. Shaw ADA NEW Doors - Completed
|
The enclosed pictures are the NEW ADA Doors that were installed at R.E. Shaw Elementary School during the December 2011 Holiday Break. In addition, to the new hallway doors, we have a new fire panel and wiring to tie the doors into the fire alarm system. This project was funded by the June 2011 Annual Town Meeting.

R.E. Shaw ADA Stage Lift
|
New ADA Stage Lift at R.E. Shaw Elementary School was installed in April 2010. The installation was part of the school department's efforts to make all schools handicap accessible. The Town and School had an Accessibility Report done in November 2006.

R.E. Shaw New Roof Installation.
|
As a result of the May 24, 2009 Hail Storm in Millbury, the School Department was able to receive an insurance claim for roof damage to the R.E. Shaw Elementary School. The hail caused damage to many areas on the roof. The entire roof was replaced with a fifteen year warranty.
